Biography:
Jürgen Angeler studied communication and media design, which formed the foundation for his artistic path. In 2014 he began painting and took part in his first exhibitions. The first solo exhibition followed in 2015. Since then he has constantly developed his technique further.
Several exhibitions and workshops have followed to this day. Jürgen Angeler pays particular attention to informal painting, a form of modern art that emerged in the 1940s/1950s. The mixture of arbitrariness (impulsion) and chance (drip painting, squeegee removal) plays a crucial role. At the end of the work there is a finished painting that expresses the tension that was built up.
Jürgen Angeler looks back on successful exhibitions in Germany, Italy and Austria. His paintings are in collections in some European countries, the USA, Hong Kong and Japan.
Selection of exhibitions:
– Participation with two paintings at “cosmo GRAFIE” in Rome, Italy. Curated by Eva Czerkl
– Participation in the Elledorado Art Charity in the Gay Museum, Berlin (Patron: Claudia Roth, Vice President of the Bundestag)
– Solo exhibition “Made in Germany”, in the Kulturei Mainz (Citadel), Germany
