Trujillo_1976, contemporary visual artist, member of the Spanish Association of Painters and Sculptors (AEPE), has extensive artistic training, began his studies in Compulsory Secondary Education (ESO) 1988-1991. Between 1991-1995 he completed the Intermediate Vocational Training (FPM) in Arts, specializing in “Engraving”. From 2000 to 2006, he expanded his knowledge with a Bachelor’s Degree in Plastic Arts, profile: Conservation and Restoration of Movable Property”, at the Faculty of Visual Arts of the University of the Arts, all of which he learned in Cuba. Along with his university studies in the years 2003-2007, he worked as a Technical Teaching Assistant (TAT) in the Conservation Department of the Faculty of Visual Arts of the same center. After graduating, he began working as a “University Teacher of the Colored Subject.” Watercolor technique (still life), Tempera (landscape), and Oil (human figure), taught to Restoration students of the same Faculty. At that same time and until 2011, he directed the “Tamarindo” Artistic Project, a Sculptural Ceramics workshop, sponsored by the Faculty of Visual Arts of the University of the Arts of Havana, and the Council of Administration of the Municipality of October 10, the Cuban capital, that year he was awarded the Scholarship by the Spanish Ministry of Culture for Restorer/Graphic Document, which he developed in the workshops of the National Prado Museum, Madrid.
In 2014 he came to reside in Spain, and it was in 2015 that he resumed artistic creation, working jointly in the Conservation of the Artistic Heritage of Galicia, in interventions such as the Facade of the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela, 2017-2018, as well as the Grilles of the Girola Chapels of the same monumental building, 2019-2020, for that year, begins studies for an Official Master in “Management of Artistic and Architectural Heritage, Museums and Art Market”, at the University of Santiago de Compostela, the which he shares with his work as Heritage Restorer in the processes carried out on the Grilles and Pulpits of the Main Chapel in the Cathedral of Ourense, 2021-2022. In March-April 2023, he was the protagonist of the Two-Person Watercolor Exhibition “Camiñar, Andar. Percorrer Labirintos”, together with the artist BandĂn (BND) at the Araguaney Foundation Gallery in Santiago de Compostela, in addition, he participated in the “Available” Collective Exhibition (watercolors) at the Origen Gallery, Madrid, and in the “Contemporary Collective” Exhibition ” (acrylic/canvas) at Abartium Estudio & Art Gallery, in the city of Barcelona, both in the month of July of this year. He has participated in nine individual exhibitions and more than a dozen group exhibitions both in Cuba and Spain, as well as in national and international competitions, obtaining several awards and mentions, such as the Certificate of Artistic Merit issued by the Luxembourg Art Prize 2022 and 2023. His work is exhibited in private collections in Miami FL., Panama City, Spain, Cuba, Colombia and Brazil.
